What is the
Prayer Room?

The Prayer Room is an hour-long set where we seek to encounter the tangible presence of God and contend for his purposes in our city and the world.

Each set is facilitated by a host as we spend time in worship, listening prayer, and in corporate intercession. This is a place where you can learn to pray and grow in your prayer life.

 FAQs

  • The Prayer Room is a free space for you to engage with God however you feel led! You won’t be judged for what you do, and you won’t be judged for what you don’t do. Each set is facilitated by a host, and the format typically looks like the following (with some freedom to flex) –

    • 7:02 – Prayer Host sets up the morning, giving instructions and ways to engage.

    • 7:05 – Worship through music. This is a free space to engage with God. You can sing, pray, kneel, walk around, journal, read your Bible, etc.

    • 7:25 – Prayer Host shares the passage of scripture for the morning and creates space for people in the room to hear from God. Prayer handles are provided for people to think through on their own.

    • 7:35 – The room is brought together and spends time praying for what was highlighted in the time of hearing. You are free to pray quietly or over the whole room.

    • 7:50 – Worship with music for the remainder of the set.

  • Dietrich Bonhoeffer says that “the richness of the Word of God ought to determine our prayer, not the poverty of our heart.” In the Prayer Room, we value praying God’s word more than just our own words.

We intentionally stay in one passage for an extended time in the prayer set, choosing to slow down and meditate on what God has spoken through his word. Our desire is to disciple those who come to the Prayer Room into people who have deep wells to go to in scripture.

  • We encourage you to come and stay for the whole hour set, though we would still love for you to join us if you have to come late or leave early!

  • This is a space for anyone and everyone – from those who have been following Jesus for a long time and have deep wells with him in prayer, those who may not even know what prayer is, and everyone in between. We welcome you into the Prayer Room!

This is a perfect space to learn how to pray. God has designed us to be in conversation with him, and that’s what prayer is. There is no expectation for you to say or do anything, we just pray that God encounters you in a fresh way in the Prayer Room.

"Every major revival has its origins with a small band of intercessors faithfully crying out...when we gather to worship and pray, regardless of size, we convene the very court of heaven on earth. Our prayer gatherings are the most important and powerful gatherings in our city."
